Thanos Aggelakis, President of the Greek Interprofessional Poultry Organization, is actively participating in the newly established Working Group of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food. The group’s purpose is to formulate proposals for the amendment of Law 4056/2012, which concerns the licensing of livestock facilities.
The Group’s primary objective is to identify the challenges that have arisen from the implementation of Law 4056/2012 and to develop solutions to address them. Its proposals will be taken into consideration in the forthcoming revision of the existing legislation regarding livestock facility licensing.
The Interprofessional Organization of Poultry Farming welcomes the initiative of the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, as the current legal framework has made it nearly impossible to license existing poultry facilities, thereby marginalizing a significant portion of modern poultry farming.
