Two of Aggelakis S.A.’s products –OliVchicken® and The Villager’s Chicken– were awarded the Superior Taste Award with 2 Stars at this year’s award ceremony of the International Taste Institute, held in Brussels.
The Institute’s jury is composed of world-renowned chefs and sommeliers, including Ferran Centelles (Head Sommelier at El Bulli Foundation), Manuel Jimenez (Best Sommelier of Spain 2017), Alain Nonnet (who held 2 Michelin stars for 36 years), Gaetano Raguni (Italy Bocuse d’Or 2017 winner), Alan Coxon (UK Food & Drink Ambassador and BBC presenter), and Cristina Figueira (1 Michelin star).
OliVchicken® is the only chicken fed on a 100% plant-based diet, enriched with vitamins and trace elements, consisting of 55% corn and 2% olive oil. In addition to its outstanding flavor, its meat is a natural source of selenium, a trace element known for its beneficial effects on the human body.
The Villager’s Chicken is a special-rearing chicken with a rich, slightly sweet flavor that brings to mind the authentic taste of a bygone era. Both products were evaluated across multiple criteria—first impression, taste, aroma, texture—and achieved an overall score of over 85%.
Elena Karagianni, Commercial Director of Aggelakis S.A., stated:
“We are especially pleased with these distinctions, which reward our dedication to producing high-quality and innovative products. For OliVchicken®, this marks its second international recognition in less than a year. We believe this distinction will contribute to the continued success of the product’s export activity, which has already begun in Europe and is expected to expand beyond the EU within 2019.”
