Aggelakis S.A. among the first volunteer supporters
Organizations and businesses across Central Greece, including Aggelakis S.A., had the privilege of receiving the valuable support of the Region’s Covid-19 Response Team at a critical moment—an intervention that proved instrumental in addressing the early stages of the pandemic.
This decisive support was made possible thanks to the leadership of Dr. Agalos Fotopoulos, a specialist in Public and Social Health, Director of the National Health System at the Ministry of Health, and Vice President of the Panhellenic Union of Public Health Physicians, who coordinated the Response Team, as well as Dr. Toulias, Orthopedic Specialist and Regional Councilor, who also played a key role in the effort.
Thanks to their swift action, the spread of the virus was immediately contained, while clear scientific guidance was provided to confirmed cases and close contacts, ensuring the safest and most effective protocols were followed. This rapid response not only protected the health of our fellow citizens and employees but also safeguarded the smooth operation of our organizations.
We firmly believe that this effort stands as a proud achievement in the political legacy of Regional Governor Fanis Spanos. The immediate formation and operation of such a specialized unit signal a bold and innovative approach to governance—one that prioritizes public health and proactive crisis management.
The Covid-19 Response Team of the Region of Central Greece operated—and continues to operate—tirelessly across the entire region: from Lidoriki in Phocis to Karystos, from Istiaia to Antikyra and Inofyta in Boeotia, from Skyros to Larymna, Makrakomi, and Granitsa in Evrytania. Their reach and presence were constant, regardless of location or time of day.
The entire Region takes pride in this initiative—from large businesses that kept their production lines running with the medical guidance of the Team, to citizens who collaborated fully in epidemiological tracking, field visits, sample collections, and 24/7 telephone support. At any hour, the Team’s lines offered scientific insight, reassurance, and even logistical help for patient transfers to hospitals or CT scanners. This uninterrupted “on-call” presence earned the highest praise for its tangible results.
We, at Aggelakis S.A., are deeply grateful for the effectiveness of this public health initiative, and fully embrace the forward-thinking leadership demonstrated by the Region, its Governor, Deputy Governors, and the experts they entrusted. In light of this critical and unprecedented emergency, and as responsible and compassionate members of our society, we feel a sincere calling to actively support this ongoing effort. As one of the first volunteer contributors, we invite our fellow citizens—each from their own role—to offer whatever support they can to this important mission, not only in response to the pandemic but also for the challenges ahead.
Together—public, private, and ecclesiastical institutions—we can form an unbreakable chain to protect our Region from the crisis it faces.
