With support of the local community and environmental protection being two core and longstanding commitments, Aggelakis, the Greek poultry company based in Evia, has further strengthened its long-term support for the Association of Volunteer Forces for Forest Protection and Rescue of Psachna, through a new and particularly significant donation, which includes:
- Two state-of-the-art 4×4 fire-fighting vehicles, capable of operating in both forest and urban fires across the Region of Central Greece. The vehicles can be used for both preventive and suppression purposes, as well as for rescuing people from traffic accidents, as they are also equipped with rescue equipment.
- Twenty-three complete operational uniforms (jacket and trousers bearing the Association’s insignia), enhancing the safety of the volunteers.
This donation comes at an important milestone for the Association, which this year marks 30 years of continuous service in environmental and civil protection. It also constitutes a direct response to the Association’s request for the renewal of its vehicle fleet, making a decisive contribution to the region’s preparedness in addressing potential risks.
The Municipality of Dirfyon–Messapion honored the 30-year altruistic contribution of Association of Volunteer Forces for Forest Protection and Rescue of Psachna with a major event held in Evia, on November 23. Representing Aggelakis at the event were the company’s Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Nektaria Aggelaki, who is actively involved in philanthropic initiatives, and Ms. Xenia Giannaki, Human Resources & CSR Director at Aggelakis S.A.
Commenting on the donation of the fire-fighting vehicles, the President of the Association, Mr. Spyridon Raptakis, stated:
“There are no words to adequately express our gratitude to Aggelakis SA. The donation of two new, modern firefighting vehicles enables us to respond to today’s challenges to the greatest possible extent. Following our request, and with a strong sense of responsibility -especially in a year when our Association celebrates 30 years of service to society and the natural environment- the company proceeded with this noble act, laying solid foundations for the years to come. Once again, we thank Aggelakis for everything it has done for our Association and for its contribution to our region.”
Aggelakis continues to stand in tangible support of those on the front line protecting our communities, undertaking initiatives with a meaningful and lasting impact on society and the environment.
