With deep sorrow, Aggelakis S.A. announces the passing of its founder, Nikos Aggelakis.
Nikos Aggelakis was a remarkable man of vision, courage, and exceptional diligence. Together with his late wife, Panagiota Aggelakis, he raised five children, twelve grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. As he often said, his family was his greatest achievement.
In 1962, Nikos and Panagiota Aggelakis started from scratch, founding a small, family-run poultry farm in Chalkida. Through their relentless efforts and personal dedication, it grew into one of the leading companies in the sector in Greece — a lifelong project of two devoted partners and truly self-made entrepreneurs.
He felt especially happy and proud to see his creation continue to grow and innovate through the work of his children and grandchildren, who carry on his legacy with dedication and commitment. In a speech he gave in 2022, he noted: “Sixty years ago, I couldn’t have imagined we would reach this point—celebrating 60 years of Aggelakis chicken. I’m proud that my children have taken the company so far.”
Nikos Aggelakis stood out not only for his business achievements but also for his integrity, humility, humanity, and deep respect for others—his colleagues, his employees, and his partners. All those who had the chance to know him, remember him with love and admiration. He passed away at the age of 93, fulfilled, proud, and at peace.
