  • Volunteer tree planting initiative for employees

Aggelakis S.A., one of the leading poultry producers based in Evia, recently completed the planting of 1,800 olive trees on privately owned farmland in the municipalities of Istiaia–Aidipsos and Limni, in Northern Evia. The initiative aims to actively support the restoration of local agricultural production in the region, following the devastating wildfires of 2021.

From the very beginning, Aggelakis has stood by the people and communities of its home region, undertaking a range of actions to support those affected. This major initiative, part of the company’s social and environmental responsibility program, was implemented in collaboration with the non-profit environmental organization We4All and culminated in a volunteer tree-planting day for company’s employees.

On Sunday, November 27, 2022, more than 50 Aggelakis employees gathered in the area of Strofilia to plant 168 olive trees on privately owned land, under the key message: “Every root counts for our land.” The initiative was attended by the company’s CEO, Mr. Thanos Aggelakis, along with team members from all departments.

For the past 60 years, Aggelakis has placed people at the heart of its corporate culture, offering tangible support to institutions and organizations in need, while consistently respecting and protecting the environment. The company carries out a series of initiatives aimed at reducing its carbon footprint—with a vision for a better future for all.
